The iconic Kew Gardens Orchid Festival 2025 returns this winter, offering a spectacular display of nature’s beauty and vibrant biodiversity. From Saturday, February 1, to Sunday, March 2, 2025, the Orchid Festival will showcase the unique flora and fauna of Peru, one of the world’s most biodiverse countries.
This year’s festival will be held in the Princess of Wales Conservatory, where Peru’s landscapes—ranging from tropical rainforests and sandy beaches to deserts and towering mountains—will be recreated through vibrant floral displays. Peru is home to over 3,000 orchid species, making it the perfect inspiration for this year’s Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens.
Discover the Wonders of Peru at Kew Gardens
Visitors to the 2025 Orchid Festival can experience Peru’s breathtaking biodiversity through stunning horticultural displays. A large floral installation will fill the central pond, resembling Lake Titicaca, one of Peru’s most iconic landmarks.
A smaller pond will feature floral flamingos standing proudly before a replica of Machu Picchu, Peru’s famous cultural symbol. In addition, the festival will display Puya raimondii, the world’s largest bromeliad, known as the Queen of the Andes. This endangered species adds an environmental focus to the event.
A Floral Journey Through Peru’s Diverse Ecosystems
Kew’s Princess of Wales Conservatory will take visitors on a journey through Peru’s diverse ecosystems. From tropical rainforests to high-altitude deserts, each environment will be beautifully represented. An orchid-aviary will highlight Peru’s unique bird species through vibrant floral designs. Visitors will also be greeted by an alpaca, adorned with orchids, adding a special touch of Peruvian culture.
Additionally, visitors can stroll beneath a starry night sky, where recycled Allium flower heads from Kew’s outdoor displays will shine overhead.
